Praise for the 2017 Conference

Thank you so much for the opportunity to attend the Kentucky  Women Writers Conference as a recipient of a postgraduate scholarship. I gained a great deal from the workshop with Camille Dungy. These are things that will help to carry me through my final year of graduate school. I also want to thank you for assembling a group of instructors who reflect the diversity of women’s voices. It was truly a breath of fresh air to be present in the space created.  —Sincerely, Philana Omorotionmwan

I write to thank you so much for having me at this year’s Kentucky Women Writers Conference. It was an amazing experience, and I can’t thank you all enough. It was my first time at a writing conference, and though I tend to be intensely shy (especially around writers), the smaller workshops and genre lunch helped me to get to know some fellow writers and have some interesting conversations. I was floored by the caliber of all the speakers. Natalie Diaz’s workshop was amazing. Generative and interesting, both kind and prodding. She did a great job managing the various experience levels of the group, and it was totally wonderful. I definitely plan to attend again. —With gratitude, Ann V. I’ve learned something new every time. This conference is the right size, with an encouraging atmosphere and writers who offer substantive knowledge and significant work. Keep it up! I’ve been to bigger ones but not better ones. —anonymous

Panels, talks, and workshop (with Jessica Handler) were exceptional this year! —anonymous

Jessica Handler, Elena Passarello, and Melynda Price worked together so seamlessly as a trio of helpful panelists. Best panel. Most constructive. —anonymous

Martyna Majok was fabulous—engaging, enthusiastic, knowledgeable, and extremely helpful! —anonymous

Great conference. Would love more panels related to playwriting! Love the diversity. —anonymous
