Hiring Social Media Specialist; KyWomenWriters Radio Hour

July 15, 2020
As part of equity and inclusion efforts at Kentucky Women Writers, our Board of Directors has been seeking new ways to connect with more diverse groups of women writers and readers. I’m delighted to announce that one of these initiatives is the hiring of a Social Media Specialist to raise awareness among underrepresented women about the 42nd annual Kentucky Women Writers Conference–Virtual Edition. Due to the pandemic, this year’s conference is taking place online on September 10–13, and it will be the most accessible and affordable in our recent history. We want to embrace this opportunity to build the most diverse group of participants we have ever welcomed. The Social Media Specialist will help us achieve that goal. It is a part-time, temporary position, reporting to our Board of Directors. If you are interested, please see the job posting below.
Request for Proposal
The Board of Directors of the Kentucky Women Writers Conference is seeking a social media specialist to market the online 2020 Kentucky Women Writers Conference to take place on September 10–13. The marketing specialist would use the conference’s social media platforms to engage women in both the Black and the LatinX communities before the event in order to share information on the 2020 conference’s presenters, events, and workshops. The ideal candidate would have a positive record of reaching these audiences. Please send letters of interest and proposals by July 27, 2020 to Conference Director Julie Wrinn at kentuckywomenwriters@gmail.com.
If you missed the broadcast last week of our first ever Kentucky Women Writers Radio Hour, that recording is still available on WUKY’s website at this link [https://www.wuky.org/2020-kentucky-womens-writers-conference#stream/0]. We spoke with Jami Attenberg, Bridgett M. Davis, Erin Hosier, Mariama Lockington, and Darcey Steinke about what they’ve been working on and what they’ll be doing for our conference. We loved getting to know these authors better and hope you will too!
P.S. Dates for KyWomenWriters2020 will be Sept. 10–13, 2020, and registration began on July 1, 2020. For more information, please visit our website or call 859-257-2874. To unsubscribe from this newsletter, please email your request to kentuckywomenwriters@gmail.com.
