Jacinda Townsend’s debut novel, Saint Monkey, won the 2015 James Fenimore Cooper Prize, awarded biennially by the Society of American Historians to the best novel concerning American history, and was named Honor Book by the Black Caucus of the American Library Association. She is a former Fulbright fellow and graduate of the Iowa Writers’ Workshop and teaches creative writing at Indiana University.
